Description
As a spirit piloting a brass-and-crystal vessel, the player explores the fantastical (and sometimes-strange) moons of magitek solar systems. Through exploration, combat, and occasional trade, they will gain artefacts that provide combat-spells, and traversal upgrades that will open new areas. Not to mention a number of lesser items! All of this is to the end of averting a terrible calamity: an approaching, devouring presence that, if not stopped, will consume the local systems...
History
A far as I recall, was begun in reponse to the discovery that a top-down space-game that I wanted to re-play--Wazzal--alas no longer worked on my machine.
Originally a side-project, the game was shelved for a while. When, later, what was then the main project fell through, was picked up and to replace it.
In earlier iterations, the gameplay was conceived to be something quite different to what it is now: more a procedurally-generated action-adventure. Over time the procedural elements fell away--only code-vestiges remain--and the direction towards a metroidvania came to the fore--bringing it to the vision that it has today.
Features
- Mid-paced exploration-and-combat gameplay
- Arcane upgrades to the player’s vessel, granting new traversal and progression abilities, opening new areas, and expanding the vessel's appearance
- An arsenal of artefacts to discover, providing multifarious combat-spells--offensive and defensive both
- The magitek "space"-future of a fantasy world, in a cosmology of crystal spheres, portal-suns, and themed, magic-heavy moons
