To Combat!
Greetings and salutations!
This week's post is a little late, but I wanted to hold back so that I could include the major work of this week: a new video.
Thus this week doesn't have a screenshot--it has a video! Specifically, a closer, more up-to-date look at the combat mechanic than we saw in the first gameplay video.
I seem to recall writing quite some time ago that I had a few topics in mind for this blog that were a little more meaty than simply "here's what I did this week", and this week I want to cover one of those. I still intend to discuss this week's progress, but more briefly, and after the new topic.
Specifically, I want to talk about combat in A Door to the Mists.

Mummy Mia!
Greetings and salutations!
This week's screenshot shows the second major enemy of the game: a mummy encountered beneath a barrow. (Although the screenshot is set in the prologue pyramid, as the barrow has yet to be made.) You should also be able to see the reworked "combat ring" in the background.

A Second Combat-Centric Miscellany

Gameplay Video!
Greetings and salutations!
This is a break in schedule, but I think that it's worth it for this minor milestone: last night I uploaded the first gameplay video for A Door to the Mists!
(Well, unless you count a short video created by someone else, showing a previous version of the combat mechanic.)
The level shown doesn't come from the main game--it's a short test-level--and the footage is old, thus excluding much of the progress that I've described in this blog. Nevertheless, it should, I hope, serve to show the basics of the game's mechanics. I'm hoping to have further videos soon, showing a more up-to-date look at the game.
All that said, here it is:
You should also see a new button on the sidebar to the right, linking you to my YouTube channel.
I still intend to post on Monday, as usual--this may be a break in schedule, but only by virtue of this additional post being inserted.

A Combat-Focussed Miscellany

Okay, so this week's post is late again--my apologies. I was somewhat busy for part of yesterday, and when I did sit down to write I found myself rather tired. In the end I decided to leave this week's post for the next day--that is, today.
That said, here is this week's screenshot, showing one of the week's implemented features: enemy "corpses" being left behind after they are defeated in battle:
